Bred by Frank & Lee Pieterse of the world renowned ‘Statuesque’ kennel in Sydney, his pedigree brings together the leading American Whippets of their day.
He is sired by the Top Producing Whippet Sire in the history of the breed with 118 US Champions and 125 Worldwide Champions to date. His Dam ‘Libby’ has won a “Specialty Best In Show” and multiple All Breeds “Best In Shows” and is the mother of 5 Champions.
‘Jason’s reputation preceeds him. He has won Multiple, International Specialty and All-Breeds “Best In Shows” and has been achlaimed as one of the leading whippets in the world. Here in Australia, he is tied for All-Time ‘Specialty’ winner, with four “Specialty Best In Shows”.
Whilst in Sweden he began by winning “Best In Show” at the Sighthound Specialty in 2000, finishing as “Top Winning Whippet” that year. By 2001 he was Sweden’s No 2 Whippet Stud Dog, but was “Top Producer” in 2003. In 2004 he again managed No 2 Producer, with many champions world-wide, themselves becoming Top Whippets and Producers in their respective countries.
He attained 12 CACIB’s in 5 different countries under 12 different judges, with a long list of “Best In Groups” and “Best In Show” placings.
His offspring continue the legacy overseas, but here in Australia, his progeny still continue to be among the leading winners, including his daughter ‘Lucy’ – Aust Ch Statuesque Scarpetta (ex Aust Ch Skyeways Private Eye), who won “Best In Show” at Australia’s 1st National Whippet Specialty Show in 2004, were Jason himself was awarded “Reserve Challenge Dog” at the Veteran age of 9 years. These wins were under international breed authorities, Dog Classes judge Mr Magnus Hagstedt (‘Signum’ Sweden) and Bitch Classes & “BIS” judge Mrs Mary Lowe (‘Nimrodel’ UK).
