‘Banjo’ is our Black & White “King” of IBIZA, born 13th of August 2003. He has been winning most of his classes and several at Group level, including “Best Minor Puppy In Group” at the Melbourne Expo Dog Show in Feb 2004, under Specialty sighthound judge, Mrs Laurie Hunt (NSW). He won “Best Puppy In Show” at the South Australia Whippet Specialty 2004 in Adelaide, under sighthound specialist judge, Ms Jocelyn Gagne (Canada).
Banjo took 2nd Junior Dog in a strong class at our 1st National Whippet Specialty Show in 2004 under Whippet authority Mr Magnus Hagstedt (‘Signum’, Sweden). Days later he also placed 2nd Junior Dog at the Royal Melbourne Show under an international judge.
He was being exhibited by Allen Anderson in Adelaide early 2005 and at his first show there, Banjo won “Best of Breed” under breed specialist, Ms Glenda Goller (‘Cherubz’, QLD). The very next week, he again took the Dog Challenge. This is quite a rare achievement for a black whippet, particularly one that was just over a year old. Following an accident, he has not been shown since mid 2005, but will be exhibited again in mid 2006.
We have had our ‘Lemnos’ litter by his solid black sister ‘Satia’ – Ibiza Sweet Sensation, who won her first Challenge Certificate under Hound Specialist judge Mrs Barbara Marsh, at a large Metropolitan Show. Their black & white sister ‘Diva’ – Ibiza Sweet Diva had our ‘Jasons’ litter sired by the world renowned Multi Int BISS CH Statuesque Extortion (iid), in November 2005.
Banjo has the most stunning temperament and is a very affectionate yet outgoing whippet. His true size and movement has had many positive comments from both breeders and judges locally and from overseas, with several stud requests already received.
