Our Dogs

We have seventeen whippets and co-own six (living elsewhere), intended to be used as part of our future breeding program, with ‘Rosso’, our youngest male puppy currently being run-on for future showing as well as potential stud use.

Our dogs lead an active, healthy life in the foothills of Mt Macedon. We have 8 foot, fully-fenced enclosures and individual areas, with indoor heated pens for them at night, as well as separate runs for the young pups. They have a chance to sleep inside the house too, as they are usually very well behaved..

We hope you enjoy learning about our dogs and find our PUPPIES page of interest. You can see pictures of Recent pups at - Current Litters.

Please feel free to visit our NEWS Weblog pages where you can see all of our recent Exhibiting Results and details at Our Show Wins.

My Thanks

Gian Zovi (Valdassa) and I became associated through the breed, quickly establishing a whippet provoked friendship. Gian was generous enough to allow me the exclusive use of his solid black stud ‘Gabbo’ - Valdassa The Great Gabbo, co-owned by Patrick Estalote and I’m eternally grateful to him for this.

I happily look after his dogs on occassion and leased Gabbo’s mum, Gian’s beautiful solid Fawn, blue masked bitch ‘Grappa’ - Valdassa Grappa (pictured above in the center) for our “BALGIDA” litter, sired by ‘Rogue’ - UK, Aust & NZ Ch Nevedith Rare Rogue (imp UK). This leading English import won at CRUFTS before being exported to Australia and is one of the UK’s Top Champion producing and internationally acclaimed whippets. ‘Rogue’ is a fawn & white parti, owned by Mrs Noreen Harris of Bonnymead. Thank you Noreen and I appreciate your continued friendship.

Allen Anderson of Hydale had been very supportive, leasing me both his black & white ‘CeeCee’ - Hydale Cover Story, generously sent to me from Queensland by Lisa Whittaker for the “ROYAL” litter (our first pups), and his wonderful solid white “Best In Show” winning ‘Georgia’ - Aust Ch Hydale Georgia Brown for the “SWEET” litter, both were sired by solid black ‘Gabbo’. I leased his prized blue fawn parti coloured ‘Nikki’ - Aust Ch Statuesque Tapestry, (also a Best In Show winner) which was mated to the lovely solid brindle English import ‘Broom’ - Barmauds Mr Rumpole (imp UK) bred by Ms Emma North-Row, for the “CALLAS” litter.

My dearest solid black with white trim ‘Vida’ - Valdassa Viva Ibiza bred by Gian Zovi, was also mated to ‘Broom’ for the “VIVA” litter. Gian had been offered ‘Vida’ on lease for a future litter before being de-sexed. It recently resulted in his “come-back” litter (after almost a 4 year absence from breeding), producing ‘Bubbles’ Valdassa Mdme Allbabble.

Mrs Lana McCrindle of Aslan has been a loyal friend and her assistance in my coloured breeding pursuit will always be appreciated. I thank her for leasing me her beloved blue fawn parti ‘Chelsea’ - Aust Ch Aslan Queen O Diamonds for the “ARGYLE” litter, sired by the wonderful solid blue brindle ‘Sox’ - Statuesque Fleete Feet, for our first ‘non solid-coloured’ (ie. “normal” colour) litter.

‘Sox’ also sired my very first, second generation litter in mid 2005, which was out of my darling (personal favourite natured) bitch ‘Nikie’ - Ibiza Royal Queen Anne, a fawn ‘grizzle’ (black ‘tips’ through coat) with a black mask and white blaze/trim, producing our “IMPERIAL” litter and solid brindle ‘Barry’ - Ibiza Imperial Iberias.

Above all, I want to thank Yvonne & Michael Beasleigh of Bellendene kennels, as without their years of dedication to breeding Whippets, none of this would be possible. They bred the amazing black ‘Rocky’ - Bellendene Galahad owned by Irene Spatt, who’s been instrumental in our solid ‘coloured’ breeding program. In 2006, we were fortunate enough to have Rocky sire our “KAMINIA” litter out of our blue brindle ‘Maria’ - Ibiza Callas Maria.

The Beasleighs also bred the magnificent fawn brindle ‘Treacle’ - Bellendene Night Owl, (pictured moving) who we mated to our ‘Beryl’ in 2006 resulting in our solid white (with fawn spots) ‘Solo’, a single pup.. We plan to use ‘Treacle’ again at stud in 2009 and details are featured at Planned Litters.

Yvonne & Michael’s continued guidance, support and advise has been a constant inspiration and very encouraging; all of which I feel very indebted for. I am extremely honoured by their trusting friendship and I’ll always be grateful for allowing me to be the only other breeder to have used both their prized stud dogs ‘Rocky’ & ‘Treacle’. I am also very greatful for the use of their ‘Sox’ - Statuesque Fleete Feet who is superbly bred by the Pieterses of the Statuesque kennel in Sydney.

I’d also like to thank Lee & Frank Pieterse for their kind support, continued encouragement and more importantly, for their huge contribution to the Dog world, especially the Whippet breed. The Pieterses allowed me to be among the very limited few breeders in Australia to be granted the stud use of their internationally renowned ‘Jason’ - Multi Int BISS Ch Statuesque Extortion (iid), who went to our dear black & white ‘Diva’ - Ibiza Sweet Diva (co-owned with Steve & Alice Hilton-Wood) and I feel very privileged for them approving this mating. Lee was quite taken by Diva’s ‘type’ and complimented her, calling her “exquisite”, a huge thrill for me.. You can see them on our site at “JASONS” litter and visit their own page on the Statuesque website.

Finally, my heart felt thanks to my family, especially my parents, who’s love of animals and dogs ignited my passion for Hounds. Their continued understanding and significant support has enabled me to pursue this endeavour, as I would never have been able to do it without their backing and resources.

Our “LEMNOS” litter produced 5 boys and 3 girls with a solid blue, a black with white trim, 4 fawns and 2 white pups (with black markings). They are out of our sweet solid black ‘Satia’ - Ibiza Sweet Sensation, arriving the 6th of April ‘06. We thank Garry & Danielle Drybough of ‘Tezer’ kennels in Sydney and the sire’s co-owner and breeder Mrs Pauline Affleck for the use of their beautiful solid white stud ‘Shadow’ - Aust Ch Rothbury The Loan Ranger (ai) (pictured above on the move). You can read details and see puppy pictures at - ‘LEMNOS’ Litter at 5 weeks and follow the progress of all future litters on our Home page and at our - Weblog NEWS page (all our News, Show Results & various Whippet Topics).

The eagerly awaited repeat of the “D” Litter by our solid white ‘Beryl’ is planned again for 2009. You can see future details at - Planned Litters.
