Our Hound Specialist judge is a Borzoi breeder and awarded us our very first Class In Group. Dr Barclay had given my first solid black whippet ‘Vida’ - Valdassa Viva Ibiza, “Best Minor Puppy In Group” at the Epson Show in 2003 and for quite a while, proved to be the most incouraging victory I’d had in showing solid coloured whippets. Vida went on to win ‘Best Puppy of Breed’ at our biggest Dog Show, The Melbourne Royal Show the same year, a first for black whippets.
